April 2023 Edition
Hello! Welcome to the first edition of 5 on the 9. Here are your updates:
Blog Post: Teaching Financial Literacy…for Fun! - while I was on a run, I listened to a special podcast, and it got my imagination running as well.
Project Warrior Podcast: Tap into Tetrachromacy - all about seeing things with new perspective. This was an interesting episode, mainly because of the subject matter, but also because I was selected to try out Adobe’s new podcasting software. I didn’t love it so I will be sticking to my normal tools moving forward (Audacity and Zencastr).
Bleeker Buzz: Apply for a scholarship for the Bleeker Tech Upskilling Program! This will get you a Google Career Certificate Scholarship which will provide you with the latest tech skills and knowledge needed to excel in the modern workplace in topics such as Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, IT Support, Project Management, and UX Design.
I’m doing the Data Analytics course!
Recommendation: If you are looking for an easy yet intellectually stimulating read, try out Scythe by Neal Shusterman. Set in a world where all major problems, including mortality, have been solved, the only thing needed to be kept at bay is the population. So, Scythes are humans tasked with choosing who to kill to keep things under control. I did not enjoy the sequel, Thunderhead as much, although it still gave me quite a bit of food for thought.
Olive: Refuses to let me work! When she sleeps on this chair, she starts giving out little warning beeps if I come to close, because she does not want to be disturbed!
